Expanding Standing Resources

How will our ticket expand current student resources?

  1. Improve and increase communication about resources
    • Put up both physical and digital signage made with more student input about our resources around campus
    • Create a resource fair so that departments can better interact with students
    • Advise resource offering departments to reach out more to students, whether that is by going to more student organizations, tabling, or any other method that we work together to develop
    • Stop communication that turns students away from using resources or taking them seriously
  2. Measure success of current resources
    • Offer a student handled resource feedback form not dissimilar to the Academic Concern Form
    • Make sure that any feedback can be taken either digitally or physically, depending on preference
  3. Offer students a way to help create new resources
    • Take note when a student desires a resource that does not yet exist and invite them into the process of creating it

How will our ticket expand current Student Organization resources?

  1. Create a reconciliation process for organizations that, by no fault of their own, did not receive the funding they need and deserve
    • If a former Executive Board, of either SGA or an organization, did not properly do their jobs, the present and future members of that organization should not suffer for it
    • Even if funding cannot be found through the student activity fee fund, aid organizations in understanding how best to fundraise and utilize alumni relations for this
  2. Communicate expectations and resources more clearly
    • Build real relationships with organizations by having ComSO members meet regularly with organizations just to check in and reassure them that as an individual organization, they have an advocate within SGA
    • Improve and create more infographics and other visual aids to simplify the process for student leaders who may find all of the information cumbersome at first glance
  3. Aid organizations in communicating with the student body
    • Create a physical calendar in the BSC (and a digital one online) that shows the meetings and events of organizations
    • Push more to let organizations know that they can put advertisements in our SGA mailer
  4. Reach out to more non-Chartered Organizations and let them know we are still here for them
    • Foster relationships with groups that are not chartered by the SGA so that we can still advocate for them and aid them in whatever we can
    • Meet regularly with the leadership of these groups so that we can advocate for them and the students they represent
