Fostering Community Relationships

How will our ticket foster relationships with the larger Saint Louis community?

1. Celebrate the student groups and organizations that already are engaged with other community members
   • Give these groups recognition that they deserve
   • Award a Community Engagement award of some sort to a different Chartered Student Organization each year
2. Support local businesses by connecting them with the students
   • Offer a student made list of shops, restaurants, etc. that are locally owned and run so that students will know who to support
   • Do a better job of advertising these places on and around campus

How will our ticket foster relationships within the Saint Louis University community?

1. Provide spaces and events for people with different views to interact with one another
   • When we build common ground apart from the ways that we differ, it is easier to respectfully disagree
   • Often, we begin by fighting rather than agreeing; if we agree to respect one another first, only then can we argue in a civil manner
2. Create a way for administrators to interact in a casual way with students
   • Do something like Professors and Pastries
   • Humanizes the administration for us as students and reminds them that they are here to facilitate our education
   • Don't let it be about publicity but rather building relationship
