Learn more about Alana!
Alana Janssen is a junior studying Social Work in the College for Public Health and Social Justice. On campus, Alana has been in a variety of different organizations. As a part of the Micah Learning Community, she was able to serve and engage with the Saint Louis community, as well as discuss topics regarding social justice. Alana got the opportunity to welcome new students to campus through serving as an Oriflamme leader. She has also been able to engage with students in a small group setting while being a Christian Life Community facilitator. Through her on campus involvement, Alana has been able to find communities that she can call her own and she believes every student should have the opportunity to find their fit on SLU’s campus. Over the next year, Alana hopes to create real relationships with all Student Organizations, including those that are not chartered by SGA. She hopes to give Student Organizations the space to speak freely and feel that they are truly being heard. Through this, Alana plans to give Student Organizations not only a voice, but a voice that carries.
